"The world does not need what you have, but who you are." -Edith Stein
One of the primary roles of an educator is to help students discover the power and value of education. To achieve this, a teacher provides social, emotional, and physical learning experiences. It is my hope students are able to discover more fully the person they are meant to be through these types of experiences. A student should always feel valued and safe in the classroom environment, in hopes the students are able to freely and actively engage in learning for the sake of learning. Thus discovering the value of education. The education of a child is a means to an end and the end is the development of the whole child, not just a means to acquire a job in the workforce. Above all, the development of a whole child requires the compassion and commitment of a teacher; to understand each child has unique abilities.
