Study Abroad Semester - Rome, Italy
During my spring semester of 2014, I was able to study at the University of Mary's campus in Rome, Italy. Everything about this campus is centered around the Benedictine values of community, prayer, moderation, service, hospitality, and respect for persons; the six values held of importance by the University of Mary. This semester not only allowed me to more deeply know the others in my community, but also to more deeply know myself and to have the realization of how important maintaining relationships can be in my personal and professional lives. In addition to building meaningful relationships, the program offers students the opportunity to use historic cities such as Rome, Florence, Siena, Monte Cassino, and Paris as their classroom. Literally having cities, museums, churches, and ruins as my classroom has helped me more fully understand what it means to provide students with real world experiences. |
